The trail starts with a relatively easy walk along the Urubamba River, passing through small villages and farmland. After a few hours of walking, reach the Inca site of Llactapata, and enjoy the amazing view of the valley surronded by massive mountains. Pass through beautiful landscapes, including forests and meadows filled with wildflowers until you reach the first campsite at Wayllabamba village.

The third campsite is located at Wiñay Wayna, which is close to another impressive Inca site, also called Wiñay Wayna, which means “Forever Young” in Quechua. This site is considered one of the most beautiful along the Inca Trail, with terraces, fountains, and religious buildings that are still in excellent condition.
